Dr Chris Sanzaro

Principal Dentist

Chris completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in Adelaide in 2003, after moving there from his hometown of Melbourne. Chris practised in Mackay, Queensland for 2 years, including a year as Senior Dental Officer in the School Dental Service. After a year in Shepparton, Victoria, Chris moved to Launceston in 2007.

Chris is an active member of the Australian Dental Association, having been on the Tasmanian Council since 2010. He was Tasmanian State President 2014, and is now a Federal Executive Councillor for the Association.

Chris has been at The Dental Surgery, Newstead since 2007 and has enjoyed renovating the surgery over the decade that followed, he is thankful for Dr Richard Claase’s generosity in allowing him to commence redevelopment from 2009. Chris bought the practice in 2011 and is enjoying the challenges this brings.

Outside of Dentistry, Chris gets great joy from his two young daughters and their discovery of the world. He and his wife Emily both enjoy bushwalking, exploring Tasmania and spending time together as a family. Chris’ other passion in life is his garden, where you can find him on any sunny day when he is not looking at teeth.

Clinically, Chris enjoys working with children & adults and has a strong interest in prevention, complex case management, and working with specialist dentists to achieve the best outcome. Chris plans on being in practise in Launceston for at least the next 20 years, and uses this expectation as a basis for his philosophy – long-term goals form the treatment plan for the short-term.
